A very Supernatural Location Hunt – Part 4 – UBC

When you live in Vancouver, any day can be a Supernatural Location hunt day!

My fellow location hunter Kelli and I went to UBC (University of British Columbia) to a photography exhibition. Of course while we were there we had to check out a few of the locations in the area, even though it was torrential raining, that’s just how dedicated to fangirlness we are!

The University of British Columbia, 2329 W Mall, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z4
The first place we visited was the outside of Walter C. Koerner Library, this is where Dean is waiting for Sam in to the S03E14: ‘Long-Distance Call’

Walter C. Koerner Library, UBC, 1875-2013 Main Mall, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z2, Canada

Next up we stopped for some lunch in the place where Dean had his first burger after getting out of Purgatory in S08E01: ‘We need to talk about Kevin’ – Where he described the burger as being ‘A treasure’ after Sam complained about his enthusiastic eating.

This is actually a Triple O White spot restaurant and we didn’t sit outside where Dean did due to the rain (we are dedicated, not stupid!) but we did have burger and re-enacted the big bite!

White Spot Restaurant, UBC, 2015 Main Mall, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z1

Across from the restaurant was another location, one used for filming two episodes. The building entrance was used in both S01E08: ‘Bugs’ and in S07E13: ‘The Slice Girls’

2036 Main Mall, UBC, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z1, Canada

The Inside of the building was also filmed in, but we didn’t go in.

Our final location on this trip was my favorite one. The Vancouver School Theology (Iona building) was used in S02E15: ‘Tall Tales’ where we first meet the Trickster.

Vancouver School of Theology (Iona Building) UBC, (Off:) Iona Dr, Vancouver, BC V6T, Canada

It is a stunning building, even in the rain.

If you ever get the chance I recommend you make the journey to see this building!

We took public transport to UBC and everything we saw was easily within walking distance. There were a few locations further out that we may have made our way to had the weather been better.

If you have any questions about this or any of my other Location hunt blogs please just ask, either here or @SpnUK on twitter.
